Advanced Hydrodynamic Engineering. The aim of Project X was to develop the most advanced surfboards on the market. Research and development has taken us through countless materials and designs. What has been left is a board that is lighter, faster and stronger. There is no competitor. Every design has been an exhaustive search. Each board has been designed using the latest in 3D modeling technology. All board manufacturing strictly uses high precision CNC milling. Each board is milled within a millimeter of precision.
The laminating process for the majority of the industry is done by hand. The inevitability of human error leads to imperfect boards. Momentum’s vacuum fusion process eliminates the potential for this. Instead the process produces boards that are uniform in strength, much lighter in weight and superior in flex. Which brings us to Rapid Response Reflex. This effect is created by the uniform structure created by our Evolved Vacuum Fusion process. Momentum boards snap back faster out of turns and help you maintain speed as you get up and down the face of the wave.
Less Weight, More Flex. Momentum has abandoned the PU (Polyurethane) foam that is used in most standard surfboards. We’ve been experimenting with various foams and have arrived at XPS (Extruded Polystyrene.) This foam is about 30% lighter than PU foam. More importantly, its manufacturing process produces foam that has tighter bonds between its molecules, which results in a more cohesive structure that allows for superior flex.
